About Us

Striving to make a positive impact in people’s lives, one day at a time. Let’s help break the stigma.

Hear My Cry Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was founded upon a mission to address the growing epidemic of suicide impacting our communities and the under-served populations through programs and services. We exercise high standards of ethics, best practice management, and accountability in education, prevention, and recovery. The mission of Hear My Cry Foundation is personal to the founder, Tazora Moore, because she lost her husband to suicide in July of 2012. As a result, Hear My Cry Foundation is dedicated in remembrance of Daryl Wayne Moore.

Tazora Dotie-Moore is the founder of the Hear My Cry Foundation based out of Dallas, Texas. She is a suicide survivor. Tazora understands the emotional feelings of loneliness, depression, and anxiety. Losing her husband to suicide motivated her to build a foundation to help people with mental illness and suicide survivors.

Daryl Moore, husband of Tazora Moore, died to suicide on July 22, 2012. When her husband died, leaving her alone with their three children, she did not know where to turn. Tazora was strong during the day, but fell apart at night. So many questions ran through her head. She blamed herself for his decision; she wondered how she missed the signs. In hindsight, she saw that there were so many signals pointing to the detrimental state of his mental health.

Losing his adoptive mother in 2004, Daryl found it hard to cope with his lost. He never had a relationship with his biological mother or siblings, although it was something that he greatly desired. After the death of his adoptive mother, Daryl felt incredibly alone, unsupported, and rejected.  Her husband carried these feelings with him throughout the rest of his life. Daryl’s feelings of rejection created a dark part of him that Tazora felt she could never touch. He kept it locked away from her. She knew that he was hurt, but she didn’t know the magnitude of his hurt. His depression manifested itself in many different ways. At times he was distant, sullen, and would participate in self-destructive behavior. Tazora was heartbroken because her love wasn’t enough to soothe his mind or his heart.

Creating the Hear My Cry Foundation has allowed Tazora to share her story while educated, advocating, and serving a very unique community. Her foundation has served as an opportunity to impact others while remembering her husband, Daryl.
